Being a diplomat’s daughter I had the opportunity to go around many countries both in Europe and Asia. Yet one sad thing is that we never got the chance to go to the major countries where people are crazy to go, places like India, US, Egypt, etc. I wouldn’t say that I haven’t at all visited the big places, surely I did for instance, UK, France, Italy, China, Australia and few more.
One country that I didn’t have the chance to visit is Russia and today my plan is to virtually visit the 3 top tourist attractions of the country, accompanied by you all! So today, let us experience some of their tradition and culture.
If you ever go to Russia you should at least try to go to the Museum of Literature. It is a museum consisting 70,000 Russian literary pieces of ancient and well known writers. Russian writers of all ages have at least visited the museum once and also tourists do not miss the opportunity of getting first hand experience of the the nation’s history of literature.
You can call this a Russian version of ‘Louvre Museum’, which is originally called the ‘Tretyakov Gallery’. The gallery consists of Russia’s masterpieces that are related with the country’s culture. You will see portraits depicting historical figures, famous landscape scenes, and illustrations of cultural life in Russia through the centuries.
When you are tired at the end of the day and when you feel that you need to do something for a change then don’t forget to visit the Bolshoi (Big) Theater. The theater is a historical building located in Moscow and it holds performances of ballet and opera. It belongs to the most renowned Russian ballet school, known as the ‘Bolshoi Ballet Academy’.
I think we should always have some break from our daily tasks and schedule and change our environment. Going for a tour not only makes your time enjoyable but also you can learn something that you wouldn’t find in textbooks and I think it also makes you open minded.
